I'm looking at getting a printer, but don't know which one to get. What do people think would be the best? I've been told that when a printer is running out of ink, these small lights come up on the printer or something, but I can't see those lights, so looking for a printer ... My nan has a lexmark printer, which speaks when it starts printing and when it has finished, but I don't know if it does the same when it's out of ink. If I had any old printer and didn't know the ink was running out I could be printing out loads of blank pages! Hahahahaha!
Harmony, we han an Epson printer. When the ink levels went to about 10 percent, I would get a message on screen that jaws would read. We just got a new HP printer. I don't know if it does the same thing or not. Another thing I liked about our Epson was that it would guide you through the process of changing ink cartridges.

Sounds good. Well my scanner is epson as well, so ... I might have a look in the computer shop some time soon and see what they've got.
I have an HP printer, and it tells me when it is out of ink, or getting close. It the HP desk 2400 series. Actually, it's the deskjet 2400 series. I think the real number is 2430. It does support vista. That's another thing you have to keep an eye on. Make sure your printer supports the operating system you have. When I got vista, I had to buy a new printer and wireless rowder, but that was OK because both of ours were old and needed replacing anyway.
I've got the lexmark printer now and it's printing fine, but I can't get it to speak like it's meant to. Does anyone know how to do this?
About the blank pages, that's why you use a handy dandy pare of eyes and a spectator!
